NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOAA's Marine Operations Center, Acquisition, Accountability, and Analysis Branch, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Appleton Marine, Inc. for the procurement of two (2) YMD-11596 Hydraulic Cylinders. These Cylinders are proprietary to Appleton Marine and they are specifically designed and manufactured for the NOAA Ship Reuben Lasker’s side A-frame. Sole Source Justification The sole source determination is based on the fact that the custom-built heavy duty hydraulic rams are specifically designed and manufactured by Appleton Marine for the NOAA Ship Reuben Lasker’s side A-frame. There are no commercially available products that are capable of being used on this system and the cylinders are proprietary to Appleton Marine only. Special Notice This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation package is available. However, firms that believe they can provide equipment or service that fully meets the Government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation to the identified point of contact within 15 days after publication of this synopsis.
